What makes Meevee different?
Most kids' platforms are built to maximise watch time. Autoplay rolls, an algorithm chooses what's next, and the session never really shapes itself. Meevee runs the other way: we license much-loved children's programming and arrange it into finite sessions. When the session ends, Mookee guides the child off-screen and the app closes until a grown-up reopens it. The ending isn't a setting to switch on. It's the format.
Content is chosen by people, not filters. Every show is reviewed against early childhood development research: pacing that doesn't jangle small nervous systems, characters who behave the way you'd want a child to, and stories that close. There is no AI-generated content on Meevee.
Who is behind Meevee?
Meevee was founded by former WeTransfer creative leaders, parents and educators, and is built by a small Amsterdam-based team. The team blends backgrounds in early childhood development, design, tech and storytelling, supported by advisors from Microsoft and Tilburg University. Research direction comes from Meevee's Head of Science, Koen Kusters PhD, and the company collaborates with researchers at Tilburg University. Meevee has been covered by The Hollywood Reporter.
Common questions
What is Meevee?
Meevee is a streaming platform for children aged 2 to 6, designed to end well. Every session has a beginning, a middle, and an end, hosted by Mookee, a claymation monkey who welcomes kids in, watches with them, and helps them land the ending.
How much does Meevee cost?
Meevee starts with a 14-day free trial. After that, memberships start at $9 a month, or $84 a year. Every membership contributes to the Creative Fund, which commissions new work from independent animators. Cancel anytime.
Is Meevee safe and ad-free?
Yes, both. Ad-free because the experience wouldn't work with ads in it. Safe because every show is licensed, human-curated, and age-rated. There is no browsing out, no comments section, no in-app store, and no chat.
How does screen time end on Meevee?
Every session has a beginning, a middle, and an end. When the end arrives, Mookee says a warm goodbye and guides the child into something off-screen: a small activity, a song, a stretch. Then Mookee is tucked into bed and the app closes. He stays asleep until a grown-up sets up the next session. This is structural. It happens every time.
